Neuromimetic motion indicator for visual perception
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a bio-inspired model for visual perception of motion through its principal indicator : the neuromimetic motion indicator (NMI). This indicator emerges out of the mechanism of antagonist interactions (MAI) where an architecture of oriented columns, local and distributed interactions of the neurons in the primary visual cortex (V1) is operated. The NMI indicator classifies the motion in : null motion and motion, and it estimates the number of moving objects in the scene.

Neuromimetic Indicators for Visual Perception of Motion
This paper presents three neuromimetic indicators for the visual perception of motion. They estimate the motion, the speed and the direction. All of them emerge from the first two stages in the Castellanos model [1], where a causal spatio-temporal filtering of Gabor-like type captures the oriented contrast and an antagonist inhibition mechanism estimates the motion. These neuromimetic indicator...

Background and Objective: The measure of motion playing a role in the growth of visual perception components and particularly visual perception depending on the motion components has not been known. The aim of this present study was to investigate the effect of visual and visual-motor training programs related to the motion of the components of visual perception in children with lazy eye. M...

The Malcolm horizon (Malcolm, et. al., 1975) utilizes a large projected light stimulus (PVHD) as an attitude indicator in order to achieve a more compelling sense of roll than is obtained with smaller devices. The basic principle is that the larger stimulus is more similar to visibility of a real horizon during roll, and does not require fixation and attention to the degree that smaller display...
متن کاملSustained Rhythmic Brain Activity Underlies Visual Motion Perception in Zebrafish
Following moving visual stimuli (conditioning stimuli, CS), many organisms perceive, in the absence of physical stimuli, illusory motion in the opposite direction. This phenomenon is known as the motion aftereffect (MAE). Here, we use MAE as a tool to study the neuronal basis of visual motion perception in zebrafish larvae. Using zebrafish eye movements as an indicator of visual motion percepti...
متن کاملAn integrated neuromimetic architecture for direct motion interpretation in the log-polar domain
A hierarchical vision system, inspired by the functional architecture of the cortical motion pathway, to provide motion interpretation and to guide realtime actions in the real-world, is proposed. Such a neuromimetic architecture exploits (i) log-polar mapping for data reduction, (ii) a population of motion energy neurons to compute the optic flow, and (iii) a population of adaptive templates i...
